Trade Show Displays & Hi Tech Sales Tools
The question for trade show presenters has always been, “How do I get attendants’ attention quickly and effectively with so many other presenters around?” And in today’s fast-paced, high-tech world, the task is even more daunting than in the past. So you have to get creative with your trade show displays, which means thinking outside the box. Or maybe thinking inside the square. What are QR Codes?
QR codes are square-shaped barcodes that can be scanned by a smart phone or mobile devices and will lead the user to a designated web page, coupon, etc. In essence, they work just like clicking a website link. The user is quickly taken to the destination without having to memorize the web – or, in this case, mobile – address.
What makes them even more functional is the error correction codes in them can correct up to 30 percent of misread instructions. That means you can put logos and other artistic designs in the codes and the scanner will still be able to read them.
Where do you get them?
QR files are available, paid and free versions, many places on the web; a quick search online will provide a handful of web providers to evaluate.
How do you use them? The error correction capabilities mean you can use them in almost anyway you’d like. You can put them on business cards and flyers, of course, but you can also put them on t-shirts, on trade show name badges, trade show displays themselves, and of course onto the trade show graphics and banners. QR codes placed next to product displays at the show can be used to provide a link to full product specifications or prices, etc.
Try to use them to further engage the attendants. Think about it is as a way to make a lasting impression on a passer-by, even if you don’t have a chance to make it over to speak to them.
You can even use a QR code to ask people to download an app game for your trade show display.
