Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispenser

Hand sanitizers and dispensers have become a staple for all businesses since the novel coronavirus pandemic. Interestingly, one hand sanitizer recorded the fastest sales all over the world amid the pandemic. Both offline and online stores, including Amazon, Target, and Walmart, witness extreme shortages of the Purell hand sanitizer dispenser, to the extent that the product was being sold at nearly 20 times its actual price

The hand sanitizer in question is no other than the Purell hand sanitizer. Apart from being a best-seller in recent times, Purell topped as one of the world’s most effective hand sanitizers. The company offers hand sanitizers in a vast range of packaging, including:

  • Touch-free Purell hand sanitizer dispenser
  • Manual (push-style) Purell hand sanitizer dispenser
  • Flip-top and flip-cap bottles
  • Pump bottles
  • Wall-mounted bottle bracket kit
  • Mobile hand sanitizing station
Purell hand sanitizer dispensers AND generic dispenser stands

Purell is available as gel, foam, spray, and wipes to suit different uses. While push-style dispensers can effectively combat germs, automatic or touch-free systems are the preferred choice. With touchless dispensers, there is no need for physical contact with the dispenser surface, and in turn, the risk of picking up germs from the high-contact surface is greatly minimized.

The touch-free dispensers from Purell include cartridges that contain Purell Advanced sanitizer gel engineered to kill a wide range of organisms, including viruses, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. The sanitizer is also highly effective against Norovirus. Besides effectively killing germs, the formulation leaves your hands feeling refreshed and soft, thanks to its moisturizers.

Purell Dispensers

TFX Touch-Free System

One of the popular dispenser models from Purell is the TFX dispenser. It is a touch-free system that comprises:

  • TFX 1,200 ml refills of Purell Advanced foam and Purell Advanced gel
  • TFX 1,200 ml VF481 Anti-Viral gel refill
  • White and Metallic ABS plastic touch-free dispenser
  • Movable stand (available in black, metallic, and white colors)
  • TFX Counter stand

Manually Operated ADX Dispensers

While automatic dispensers can significantly lower the possible spread of germs and bacteria, they can be accidentally activated. When anything is within the sensor’s range, it will dispense the hand sanitizer, even when it is not needed, causing waste. Manual dispensers are excellent for preventing this possible waste.

The ADX range is the push-style Purell hand sanitizer dispenser, and it is effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and Norovirus. It is available in 1,250 ml and 700 ml options with the following features:

  • Sealed ADX refills that click into place
  • Available in black with a chrome finish and white color
  • Durable design for reliability
  • Easy to service
  • Lifetime guarantee

How Effective is Purell Hand Sanitizer?

It is not surprising to find Purell hand sanitizers in most clinics and hospitals because the company is one of the leading brands in the industry. When used correctly, the hand sanitizer is highly effective for killing germs.

The hand sanitizer fulfills the required percentage of alcohol concentration recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It also contains vitamin E, aloe, and moisturizers that keep your hand from getting dried up. People with sensitive skin will find the hand sanitizer suitable as it doesn’t cause redness, itching, or excessive drying after use.

Overall, the hand sanitizer is engineered to kill up to 99.9% of germs. Installing a Purell hand sanitizer dispenser in the workplace is an excellent way to keep you and everyone in the environment safe from harmful and contagious microbes.

Alcohol Concentration in Purell Hand Sanitizer

The active ingredient in Purell hand sanitizer is 70% ethyl alcohol, making it one of the hand sanitizers with the highest alcohol concentration. But why use 70% instead of 100% alcohol? While it may seem counterintuitive, 100% alcohol is not effective for killing germs.

First of all, the CDC recognizes and recommends 70% ethyl alcohol as the most effective concentration for killing many different microbes. At 100% or even 90% concentration, alcohol will evaporate too quickly before it has any chance of effectively disinfecting your hand.

But most importantly, 100% alcohol or absolute ethanol will penetrate the cell wall of organisms very quickly and coagulate in the protein. When coagulation or coating happens, the alcohol can no longer penetrate further. The result is usually an inactive but not dead cell. In certain favorable conditions, it is possible for the organisms to become active again.

On the other hand, alcohol at 70% concentration acts at a slower rate, enabling it to penetrate throughout the cell without blockage from coagulation. The result is the death of the organism instead of merely disabling it for a while. This is why hand sanitizers with 70% alcohol concentration are more effective for killing germs.

How to Use Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispenser for Maximum Effect

Obviously, hand sanitizers do not replace the need to wash your hands with soap and running water. Your hands need to be visibly clean before you apply hand sanitizers.

If using a touch-free model, place your hands within the sensor’s range and allow it to dispense about 3 ml hand sanitizer or as much as you need to sufficiently cover your hands. With the manually operated models, you will need to push a button to dispense the hand sanitizer.

Rub the hand sanitizer all over your hands, ensuring that it gets under the fingernails and between the fingers. Continue rubbing and spreading the gel or foam in your hands for at least 30 seconds. Allow the hand sanitizer to evaporate. There is zero need for rinsing. Once Purell hand sanitizer evaporates, your hand is clean, fresh, and free of up to 99.9% germs.

Re-apply as often as needed. Typical examples of when to re-apply include each time you touch a high-contact surface, use the restroom, cough, sneeze, or come in contact with any contamination. Provided your hands are not dirty or soiled, you can apply the hand sanitizer.

The Purell hand sanitizer dispenser is ideal for use in:

Update Note on The Purell Hand Sanitizer Dispenser:

Purell dispensers were so popular, and there was so much demand, that Purell was unable to keep up with demand. Like many other suppliers, we were forced to source alternative dispenses and sanitizer solutions for our clients. We offer several generic dispensers that can be used with almost any gel or spray sanitizer, including the Purell sanitizer options. You can see all of these touchless sanitizer dispenser options here.
