Trade Show Planning: Booth Ideas & the Show Prospectus
When preparing your trade show booth ideas and plans, it is very helpful to know more about the people and organizations that will be attending your upcoming show. Let’s say you meet Jane Smith from XYZ Corp. Ms. Smith appears to be a great lead for your company. Wouldn’t it be helpful to know that she is the purchasing manager for her company? Maybe you’d like to know their sales volume, or where they’re located geographically. If any of that information sounds valuable, then take some time to obtain and analyze the trade show prospectus. One show’s prospectus may differ in the number of details provided from another one, but each of them will be helpful to you.
Are you interested in finding out what size trade show booths are available? Will your competitor be attending? Are they likely to have a 10ft popup display, or are they renting a 20ft island? Is the show focused on table top displays or large custom exhibits? Would you like to know how many different booth packages the show offers, what’s included in each package, and what each package costs? Much of this information is available in the information available online.
Getting your hands on this trade show information should not be difficult. Most of the time, it is accessible from the show website. On the show’s home page, look for a link intended for exhibitors. With a little digging, you should be able to find the information you’re looking for – all vital information to have before you start working on your own trade show booth ideas and plans.
Keep in mind that the show producer wants you to exhibit at their show. They want you to invest your money at their event, and their website is designed to pull in exhibitors – remember, exhibitors are their customers – the attendees are your customers, not theirs! Find out as much as you can on the show’s website, but then take it upon yourself to verify the data that they provide. You’ll be ensuring that you’re investing in the right show and the best trade show display for that show. We’ll talk about analyzing and verifying show data in the next article.
